About ToolsOnDuty
ToolsOnDuty is a growing collection of 801+ fast, free online tools, most of which run right in your browser. The idea behind it is simple: everyday utilities, from formatting JSON to converting time zones or generating a strong password, should be instant, free and private, without pop-ups, sign-ups or your data being uploaded to a server.
Instead of hunting across a dozen cluttered websites, you can find a well-made tool for the job in one clean place, use it, copy your result and get on with your day.
What ToolsOnDuty offers
The site brings together 801+ tools organised into 22 categories, including text tools, developer utilities, converters, generators, image tools, CSS and design helpers, and calculators for maths, money, and dates and times. Each category has its own page that lists every tool with a short description, so you can browse by task rather than by name.
New tools are added regularly, and existing ones are refined based on how people actually use them. You can see everything in one place on the all tools page, or start from the categories overview.
What we stand for
Free public tools
Public browser tools are available without mandatory registration. Authenticated Developer API usage is separate and credit-based.
Private by design
Most tools run entirely in your browser. Tools that need a network request or temporary cloud storage clearly disclose it before you submit data.
Fast and lightweight
Pages load quickly and results appear as you type, because there is no server round-trip getting in the way.
No sign-up
There is no account to create and no email to hand over. Open a tool and start using it straight away.
Who is behind ToolsOnDuty
ToolsOnDuty is built and maintained by TJ, a software developer with over 10 years of hands-on experience building web applications, developer tooling and high-traffic websites. That experience spans front-end and back-end engineering, performance and accessibility, and product design.
Every tool on the site is designed, built and tested by hand, with attention to the details that matter: accurate results, a clean and responsive interface, and genuine privacy. If a tool can run entirely in your browser, it does, so your data never has to leave your device.
This background is also why the tools stay fast and reliable as the site grows: they are built on shared, well-tested foundations rather than thrown together, and each one is checked against real examples before it goes live.
Our mission
The mission is simple: replace the cluttered, ad-heavy, sign-up-walled utility sites with fast, free, privacy-first tools that just work. We would rather do a small number of things really well and keep adding to them, than bury a good tool under trackers and pop-ups.
ToolsOnDuty is growing quickly, and there is a lot more to come: more tools, more guides, and more improvements to what is already here. If there is a tool you wish existed, we would genuinely like to hear about it.
