About the PDF to Excel

PDF to Excel reads selectable text and groups positioned text items into visual rows and cells. Each PDF page becomes a separate worksheet in a generated XLSX workbook.

A Page 1 table preview shows up to 24 reconstructed rows before download. Column widths are estimated from extracted text, and the first row is frozen for easier navigation.

This is coordinate-based reconstruction, not semantic table recognition. It does not run OCR, infer formulas, identify headers, preserve merged cells, or guarantee that decorative and irregular layouts map cleanly.

Key features

  • Selectable-text extraction by visual coordinates
  • One worksheet per PDF page
  • Page 1 preview of reconstructed rows
  • Automatic worksheet column widths
  • Frozen first row
  • Worksheet, row, and cell statistics
  • Real XLSX workbook output

Frequently asked questions

Does it use OCR?
No. Image-only scans need OCR Searchable PDF before conversion.
Does it understand tables semantically?
No. It groups text by visual coordinates and does not infer table meaning.
Are formulas created?
No. Extracted values are written as cell text.
How are pages represented?
Each source page becomes a separate worksheet named Page 1, Page 2, and so on.
Will merged cells be preserved?
No. Complex columns, merged cells, and decorative layouts generally require cleanup.
