About the Overlay PDFs

Overlay PDFs draws pages from one PDF over a base PDF. It can repeat overlay page 1 across every base page or match page numbers, repeating the overlay's last page when the overlay document is shorter.

Nine anchor positions, scale, opacity, and edge margin control placement. A composited first-page preview helps check a letterhead, stamp, background, or template layer before output.

Both source pages remain vector-based and the base page size is retained. Interactive behavior, annotations, and document-level structures are not the focus, so review outputs that depend on forms or signatures.

Frequently asked questions

What if the overlay has fewer pages?
In match mode, the last overlay page repeats after its page count is reached.
Can page 1 repeat everywhere?
Yes. Repeat page 1 is designed for letterhead, stamps, and reusable templates.
Are pages rasterized?
No. Base and overlay pages are embedded as PDF page content.
Which page size is used?
Every output page keeps the corresponding base page's dimensions.
Are digital signatures preserved?
Do not rely on existing digital signatures after modifying page content; verify any signature-dependent workflow separately.
